One use for Wikis is group presentations. In a junior class I would group students and have them create a presentation using wikispaces.com. Each member of the group would be responsible for creating a portion of the presentation. They would use the following sub-headings: Food Climate Housing Clothing Tools Weapons Relations with other Nations Religion How Does it Compare? (to Canada now) Education Gender Roles Other Interesting Information
To make their presentation (this assumes that there is at least a data projector for use in the school, if not a Smart Board) the students can link each sub-heading and give their information, or they can create a slideshow directly on this website.
You could also set up a project where group members could meet and brainstorm ideas under each sub-heading. Heather G.
